Joanna Omolara Fabikun was born on the 2nd October 1992 and was raised by Her Great aunt in a small city called Milton Keynes in the midlands; together they ran a small grocery store selling African food, which built her foundation in business and enterprise. She is extremely proud of her mixed heritage comprising of a half English, half Irish father and Nigerian mother. Growing up Joanna played the Violin and had a keen interest in Netball. In 2012 Joanna lost her mother but made this a driving force to her quest for greater things.

Joanna started her Education at St. Monica’s Catholic Combined School, after which she progressed to The Hazeley School where she gained Two (2) A*, 4 A’s, 4 B’s and a pass in French. She then studied the international baccalaureate a course reserved for the over achievers in her year, where she took courses in higher Maths, physics, art and also psychology, English literature, Spanish, theory of knowledge and C.A.S (community Aid Service).

During her time at Hazeley, Joanna was elected prefect and was also an active member of the school council. Joanna then gained admission to study Architecture at The University of Greenwich however after a year she decided against continuing her education in this course as it wasn’t her true passion she then moved to The University of Kingston in Surrey where she is presently studying Real estate Management.

To support herself through university Joanna worked at New look and Harrods however she knew she wanted more.
Despite being only 5’7 Joanna has walked during London fashion week for Mathew O’brein, African fashion week L.A, and MMR (music meets runway) Lagos.

From 2010 to 2013 she was the face of UKhairweaves, which amassed over a million views on their YouTube tutorial channel. Joanna has also modelled for powerhouses such as Videojug, Legatto Lifestyle, Florian London, and TrendsetUK. Joanna has also worked on project filmed at pinewoods studios.

Joanna has modelled in over 100 shoots, mainly hair and beauty modelling as well as editorials. She was one of the main faces for Forest Hill Fashion week. Joanna has featured in prestigious magazines such as; Black Beauty, Complete fashion magazine, Black Hair, Fashion Affair, Ok Nigeria magazine, and was the cover girl of the magazine Fire Up. Also she has been featured in International blogs such as Bella Naija, Linda Ikeji, House of Malik, The 3 clovers, and House of Ebony.

In 2014 Joanna was asked for the first time to be a guest judge and mentor on the up coming show “beyond the look” where she mentored young girls with similar ambitions as her. Joanna also hosted the show “New Women” in central London an event designed to motivate and encourage young entrepreneurs. In 2014 Joanna embarked on a presenting role and so far has interview renowned watch designer Romaine Jerome.

Over the last 3 years Joanna acquired an impressive social media following of over 20 thousand people between Instagram and Facebook. In addition to this a growing fan base receiving emails and letters of support and appreciation, she has been described as a role model to many young girls.

Joanna also known as Jojo lara played the Main girl in the video “many tings” by MayD, where she played the role of a slave. This became her debut into acting with over 1.5 million views and also led to her playing the lead role of a woman suffering from domestic violence in Patoranking’s video “Girlie O”.
On Saturday 6th September 2014 Joanna Olu Ebun Fabikun aka; Jojo Lara won the Miss West Africa UK Beauty Pageant. She will be going forth to represent the UK in the Miss West Africa International.
