Nigeria High Commission UK Hosts Nigerian Students’ Societies Leaders

History was made today 8th December 2015, as the Nigeria High Commission in collaboration with Nigerian Students Union UK and CANUK Youth held the first of its kind reception for Nigerian Students’ Society Leaders from over 25 Universities.
The event was aimed at empowering the youth and appreciating the efforts and ambassadorship role these young leaders play on their campuses and to help address different issues they had that needed to be resolved.Present at the event was the Acting High Commissioner to the UK, His Excellency Mr Simon Ogah, Minister Head Consular Education and Welfare Prince Gbadebo Adeniyi, Head of Chancery, Senior Education Consular Mr Francis Enya, CANUK Chairman ably represented by CANUK assistant secretary Mr Gboyega Coker, CANUK P.R.O Lagun Akinloye, CANUK Youth Chairman Yemi Soile, CANUK Youth Vice-Chairman Bisola T Babalola, Nigerian Universities Commission Liason officer and his deputy Mrs Gloria Haruna and other heads of sections at the Nigerian High Commission.

According to Yemi Soile the Initiator of the event “It was indeed a success as solutions to problems were reached and the student leaders were able to network and form partnerships”.

Also, a big thanks to NTA and Naija In London Tv  for media coverage of the event.In the Minister of Education and Welfare’s closing remarks, he noted that the event will now be an Annual one so as to allow for new leaders taking over from the current ones to also be appreciated for being good Ambassadors of our great nation Nigeria.
